Company
Your reliable partner in the construction industry
fdu has its origins in the 1980s, when business partners Heiner Brinkhege and Wilhelm Meyer opened their first concrete factory in Bad Laer. In the early years, the company was also known as Fertig-Decken-Union, Element-Decken-Union (EDU) and STAAG.
Through steady growth and strategic acquisitions, fdu has since developed into the largest supplier of precast concrete ceilings and walls in Germany. As established market leader, we offer short freight distances and reliable delivery. More than 1,000 employees working at about 40 locations allow us to fulfill even the largest orders on time.
fdu is a daughter company of the Heiner Brinkhege Beteiligungsgesellschaft (HBB) group and is therefore in 100% ownership of the Brinkhege family. As a family-run company, we pursue a long-term strategy for success, benefiting from our many years of experience, competent and reliable employees and quick decision-making.
The HBB group
Apart from fdu, HBB is also active in other industries, including package printing and crane services. Companies owned by our group include: Engelhardt-Druck, Walcher Etiketten, Goelz-Druck, Töpfer Druck, Sauter Druck, Stehle Druck, Quarzsand- und Porensteinwerke Neubrandenburg, KVN Autokrane and HOFF Kranbetrieb.
In 2021, the HBB group earned € 475 million in revenue.
